LADY BRONCS HOST SWT

EDINBURG, TX- After winning their third and final match at Stephen F. Austin's tournament last weekend, The University of Texas-Pan American's volleyball team returns home to play Texas-State San Marcos Tuesday evening. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse.

Texas-Pan American brings a 3-4 record into the match. The Lady Broncs won their home opener last Tuesday, prior to going to the SFA Tournament. Head Coach Dave Thorn enters the match as the all-time leader in victories at UTPA, having won 69 matches, two more than Oscar Segovia, who won 67 matches during a six-year period between 1992 and 1997.

"You're always looking to improve," said UTPA Head Coach Dave Thorn. "I'd like to see us be more consistent, not allow an opponent to run off a bunch of points, and be able to close out games when we're in a close one. We played well against Louisiana-Lafayette and we had a good practice Monday, so we're ready for Tuesday's match."

TSU-San Marcos, which was known as Southwest Texas State until September 1st, brings a 2-5 record into the match. The Bobcats won at Weber State August 29th, then defeated Louisiana Tech at home last Saturday.

"They're a well-coached team, and it should be a good match," said Thorn. "We were able to beat them here last year, and I'm sure they're looking for revenge. However, this is our home court, and we're ready to defend it."
