LADY BRONCS FALL TO TULSA IN FOUR

NACOGDOCHES, TX-Tulsa grabbed a pair of close victories in games three and four, and edged The University of Texas-Pan American's volleyball team, 24-30, 30-25, 31-29 and 30-28 in a first round match at Stephen F. Austin's tournament Friday evening.

Senior outside hitter Jaclyn Muszynski (Walnut, CA/Walnut HS) led the Lady Broncs with 16 kills, 11 digs and a .289 hitting percentage. Freshman outside hitter Heather Bravo (Las Vegas, NV/Durango HS) added 13 kills and digs and hit .237, and freshman libero Carol Marcengo (Curitiba, Brazil (SPEI HS) added 21 digs. Sophomore setter Sandy Darway (San Luis Obispo, CA/Arroyo Grande HS) had 25 assists, while freshman setter Jennifer Dameworth (El Paso, TX/Franklin HS) added 23.

"It was a disappointing loss," said UTPA Head Coach Dave Thorn. "We had our chances, and we didn't close out the games the way we needed to. We need to do a better job of finding a way to close out games, so we can be successful tomorrow."

Texas-Pan American dropped to 2-3 with the defeat, while TU improved to 2-2. The Lady Broncs will play host Stephen F. Austin and Louisiana-Lafayette Saturday.
