Reached double figures in kills in a match 19 times, notching 23 against Tulsa.....Had 10 or more digs 15 times, including 24 against Texas A&M-Kingsville.....Hit .250 or better in a match 21 times, including a .680 mark against Lipscomb..Member of Bronc Pride 3.0 Club...Came on strong after missing the first part of the season due to an injury as a sophomore in 2001....Ranked third on the team in digs/game (2.42) and was among the leaders in digs with 201....Member of the Bronc Pride 3.0 Club. Player in District 31-5A in both 1998 and 1999....Was also named Valley Freedom Newspapers Offensive Player of the Year and best hitter and blocker in each of those two seasons....Became first Rio Grande Valley player to earn MVP Award at San Antonio Southside Tournament in 1998.....Led Harlingen South HS to the area finals as a senior, and the district championship as a sophomore and again as a junior.....
Named All-Rio Grande Valley MVP as a junior....Earned All-District and All-Valley honors in basketball and earned four letters in track and field.....A National Merit Scholar....Born November 7, 1982....The daughter of Sylvia and Cruz D. Cruz.....Has one sister, Christie.....Majoring in Marketing at Texas-Pan American.
