Player in District 31-5A in both 1998 and 1999....Was also named Valley
Freedom Newspapers Offensive Player of the Year and best hitter and
blocker in each of those two seasons....Became first Rio Grande Valley
player to earn MVP Award at San Antonio Southside Tournament in 1998.....Led
Harlingen South HS to the area finals as a senior, and the district
championship as a sophomore and again as a junior.....
Named All-Rio Grande Valley MVP as a junior....Earned All-District and
All-Valley honors in basketball and earned four letters in track and
field.....A National Merit Scholar....Born November 7, 1982....The daughter
of Sylvia and Cruz D. Cruz.....Has one sister, Christie.....Majoring
in Marketing at Texas-Pan American.
