BRONCS SIGN PATRICK ANDREPONT

EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American men's basketball team has signed its first recruit for next season.

The Broncs have added Patrick Andrepont, a 6-5, 210 pound guard from LaGrange High School and Lake Charles, Louisiana. Andrepont will join the Broncs as a freshman in the fall of 2003, and will have four years of eligibility.

Andrepont averaged 21 points, and seven rebounds per game at LaGrange, earning All-Southwest and All-District honors. He earned All-Tournament honors at the Youth Basketball of America National Tournament in Orlando, Florida, where he averaged 23 points per game. Andrepont also played Amateur Athletic Union Basketball for Team Louisiana, which has alumni playing basketball at several universities in the Southwest.

"Patrick is a good scorer who has the ability to shoot over the top of people, and play on the perimeter," said UTPA Head Coach Bob Hoffman. "He has the ability to get shots, he can really shoot the ball, and he has great touch. Patrick will be a great addition to what we already have, and will continue to help us build our guard position. We feel fortunate to be able to sign Patrick in the early signing period."
