Release: Thursday, February 6, 2003 BRONCS HOST CARDINALS EDINBURG, TX-Something will have to give when two undefeated teams meet in a three-game baseball series this weekend. The University of Texas-Pan American will host Lamar in three games that will be played Monday, February 10th, and Tuesday, February 11th. Monday's doubleheader starts at 3:00 p.m; while Tuesday's single game begins at 2:00 p.m. Both teams enter the series with 3-0 records. Texas-Pan American won a single game against Southwest Texas State and a doubleheader against Schreiner last weekend, while LU defeated Texas Southern in three consecutive games. "Lamar has a good ballclub," said UTPA Head Coach Willie Gawlik. "They were a regional qualifier last year. We have to play with the same intensity and consistency as we did last weekend, and if we can, and we play good defense and can execute the fundamentals, we have a chance to win a few games." Gawlik said the games would give him and his staff a chance to see more of his pitchers in action. "We have some guys who haven't pitched, and we need to find out what those guys can do," said Gawlik. "It's early in the season, and we're still trying to see who will be in what role. We're hoping some people will emerge, and that our staff will continue to perform as they did last weekend."
