Junior (2000): Had five top-five finishes in 3,000 and 5,000-meter races, including two first places… In the 3,000 meter at the Border Olympics, Rios earned a second place finish with a time of 11:02.43 (3/6)… Pulled double duty at the Angela Proctor Inv., winning the 3,000-meter with a time of 11:07.66 and taking second place in the 5,000-meter (3/18)… Competed at the prestigious Texas A&M Invitational, were she ran a time of 11:06.95 for sixth place in the 3,000 meter (4/15)… Picked up the 5,000 meter title at the Spring Fever Open (3/12)… Competing at the Piney Woods, Rios came in with a second place in the 5,000-meter (4/30).
