Rachel Drury Pole Vault, 5-3, Sr., Moscow, ID (Moscow HS)
Sophomore (2000): Had two firsts and two seconds and broke both the indoor and outdoor records in a strong sophomore season… Broke her own school record in the indoor pole vault by over a foot with a 10’0.75", good for 7th at the Run-Sport Open… Earned a 2nd place finish at the Border Olympics with a vault of 9’6" which tied the school record at the time… Later broke the school record, with a vault of 9’9" at the Angela Proctor Invitational in which she captured a 1st place finish… Had another strong showing, placing second with a vault of 9’6.25" at the Estudiante Universitario Meet in Tampico, Mexico… Became the first UTPA women’s pole-vaulter to top the 10-foot mark outdoors with a vault of 10’2" at the Texas Relays… At the prestigious Texas A&M Invitational, she earned a 5th place finish with a vault of 9’10.5". Freshman (1999): Placed first in pole vault at UTPA Invitational... Placed first at UTPA Spring Fever Open... Took second in the pole vault at the Border Olympics... Earned a second place showing in the pole vault at LSU Purple Tiger Open... Broke the school record in the pole vault with a jump of 9’0.25" at the Houston Indoor Invitational... Qualified to compete at Texas Relays and Sea Ray Relays at the University of Tennessee. At Moscow High School: Won the Idaho State Pole Vault Championship in both 1997 & 1998.
