CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS -- The Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders used a 28-9 run midway through the first half to take a 17-point halftime lead and never looked back in defeating the University of Texas-Pan American 93-60 in women’s basketball action Saturday afternoon at Circle K Court.

Kristin Rogers led the way for the Islanders, scoring 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting from the field.  She also pulled a team-high nine rebounds.  The Islanders starting post players scored a combined 53 points.  Detra Johnson had 15 and Jean Clark scored 13.  For the Broncs Lea Valdez scored 17 points and had nine rebounds.  Cheveron Terry had 14 points and Alexandra Gravel scored 10.

The Broncs return to action on Thursday, February 10th at 7:00 p.m. when they host Centenary College at the UTPA Fieldhouse.
