LADY BRONCS HOME FOR A PAIR

EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American women’s basketball team will continue their home stand with a pair of games this weeks. The Lady Broncs host St. Mary’s Thursday evening, and Incarnate Word Saturday night. Both games begin at 7:00 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse.

St. Mary’s is 11-1. The Lady Rattlers have won seven games in succession since a 76-72 loss to Texas Women’s University in the third and final round of the Texas A&M-Kingsville Turkey Day Shootout November 24th. St. Mary’s also owns a 48-41 win against Texas-San Antonio in an exhibition game prior to the start of the regular season.

Incarnate Word is 3-8. The Crusaders have lost their last two games, to Angelo State and Henderson State, after defeating Tarleton State at the St. Mary’s Classic. UIW defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville at their Turkey Day Shootout.

The Lady Broncs take a 3-11 record into Thursday’s game. UTPA is coming off a record-setting, 93-29 win against Schreiner Sunday afternoon, in which they set a record for largest margin of victory, and tied their mark for fewest points allowed.

After Saturday’s game, UTPA will host Centenary in the first game of a doubleheader January 10th.
