LADY BRONCS TO EMBARK ON ROAD TRIP

EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American’s women’s basketball team will hit the road for the first time when they begin a four-game road trip at Texas-El Paso Wednesday evening. Game time Wednesday is 8:00 at the Don Haskins Center.

UTPA will take an 0-2 record into the game, having dropped both games last weekend in the Lady Bronc Classic at the UTPA Fieldhouse. The Lady Broncs lost to Arkansas-Little Rock and Southeast Missouri State last weekend.

UTEP was 8-20 last season. This season, the Lady Miners are 0-1, having dropped their opener to Southwest Texas State, 71-55, last Friday evening.

“At this point, we have to worry about what we’re doing, and not so much about what other people are doing,” said UTPA Head Coach Karin Nicholls. “We improved from the first game to the next. Our defense has to improve. I think that offensively, our decision-making has to continue to improve. We’re playing a team that’s also rebuilding, and even though we’re on the road, both teams need to win. We want to work harder every game, continue to improve, and continue to gain confidence.”

The Lady Broncs will continue their road trip with a trip to Loyola of Chicago and Chicago State Sunday and Tuesday, and will visit Lamar December 1st before returning home to play UTEP December 4th.
