LADY BRONC VOLLEYBALL TEAM ADDS DANIELLE HOLTHE

EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American’s volleyball team has signed its fourth recruit of the spring signing period.

The Lady Broncs have added Danielle Holthe, a middle blocker from Bishop Amat Memorial High School and Covina, California. Holthe will enter Texas-Pan American as a freshman this fall, with four years of eligibility.

Holthe averaged three kills and four blocks per game for Bishop Amat, earning first team All-Del Rey League honors as a senior. She earned second team All-Conference honors as a junior.

A good student, Holthe was twice named to the All-California Interscholastic Federation Academic Volleyball Team. She twice earned academic honors at Bishop Amat, and was a member of the National Honor Society as both a junior and as a senior. A good athlete, Holthe also played soccer in high school.

“Danielle is a tall (6-2), physical player who has the potential to be a very good Division I middle blocker,” said UTPA Head Coach Dave Thorn. “We are counting on her to contribute from the start, beginning with her first year here. Danielle is a good blocker and a good hitter. She comes from a good high school program, and brings a lot of quality experience to our volleyball team.”
