2001 Contact: Derek Smolik, UTPA Director of Athletic Media Relations New Orleans Defeats UT Pan American Men's Tennis, 4-0, in Action Sunday ARLINGTON, TEXAS -- The University of New Orleans swept all three doubles matches, then won the first three singles matches as well, to defeat the University of Texas-Pan American, 4-0, in men's tennis action Sunday at the UTA Tennis Center. New Orleans swept the three doubles matches to take the early lead. The Privateers then won the first set of all six singles matches, putting the Broncs behind the eight ball. However, the Broncs fought back and were poised to make a move in three of the matches when UNO clinched the win with wins at number two, three and six. UTPA fell to 3-7 on the season with the loss, it's third in a row. The Broncs will return to action in just two days when they host Southland Conference rival Louisiana-Monroe at the Cox Tennis Courts at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
