Throws, 6-2, So., Pharr, Texas (PSJA HS)

J. C. CrosbyFreshman (2001):  Had a season-best weight throw of 35'03.25"at the Texas Tech Open...  Finished third at the Javelina Relays with a season high shot put throw of 48'00.0"...  Also had a season high discus throw of 141'11.0" at the same meet...  Had a hammer throw of 106'04.75", capping the Javelina Relays in which he threw for season highs...  

At PSJA High School: Won numerous meets as a senior, capping off a strong high school career at PSJA… He took first in four different meets, the City of Palms (shot put), Weslaco (shot and discus), Tri-City Relays (shot and discus) and the 4-A District Meet (shot and discus)… Was the Valley’s top ranked shot put and discus thrower for the 2000 season… He took sixth place at the prestigious Texas Relays in the discus… As a junior he was named Newcomer of the Year and took second in the 4-A District Meet in both the shot put and discus… Also a well-honored football player at PSJA, earning All-District 4-A honors on the offensive line… He was also a second team All-District 4-A pick on the defensive line… Received the Mario Romero Award.

Personal: Born on February 13, 1981… Parents are Gricelda and Juan Crosby… Has two sisters, Linka and Anaid… Very active off the track, Crosby was a Border Patrol All-Academic Student for the spring semester of his senior year… Was also named High School Sports Extra Academic Student of the Month for the month of September, 1999… Was the president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and the FCA Magazine Student of the Month… Plans to major in Political Science and minor in English.
