Freshman Lead the Way for UT-Pan American Men’s Golf
ABITA SPRINGS, LA- After two
rounds of play at the Money Hill Country Club in Abita Springs, LA, the
University of Texas-Pan American Men’s Bronc Golf Squad is in 18th place
at the Tulane Deep South Invitational.
Southeastern Louisiana University
will go into the final round with 4 golfers in the top ten, including a
pair deadlocked in second place. SLU leads the event turning in a
team score of 558. UTPA compiled a two-round total of 615.
Corby King of UT-Arlington fired a second round 65 in the first day of action to earn the lead with a 137. Freshman Jordan Bunte leads the Broncs with a two-round total of 147 after shooting a 75 and a 72. Bunte is tied for 34th. Freshman classmate Todd Grubert is one stroke off that pace with a 148. Grubert shot a pair of 74’s and is currently tied for 39th. Santiago De Larrea is alone in 86th place with a 159. Miguel de Los Santos and Steven Slaughter shot a 161 and 162 for 87th and 88th places respectively.
The final round will be played at the Money Hill Country Club on Tuesday.
