EDINBURG, TX-With two games down and two more to go, the University of Texas-Pan American men’s basketball team hopes to be as successful during the last two games of their season-opening home stand as they have been at the start of it. The Broncs will finish off their home stand by hosting Texas College Wednesday and Texas Southern Saturday. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse.

The Broncs take a 2-0 record into Wednesday night’s game after downing Sul Ross State Saturday, then defeated Southwest Texas State Monday night, 73-67.

Texas College is affiliated with Division I in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, and is a member of the Red River Conference. The Steers are 5-1. Texas Southern of the Southwestern Athletic Conference dropped their opener at New Mexico Monday night, 97-51.

“We stepped up and made the plays at the end, but we have to get right back up again,” said UTPA Head Coach Bob Hoffman after the Broncs’ win against the Bobcats. “Texas College has two guards who are as good as any guards we’ve seen, and Texas Southern is a good team. We’ll have to play well against Texas College and Texas Southern.”
