EDINBURG, TX-The University of Texas-Pan American men’s basketball team will tune up for the second and final time before the start of the regular season when they host Houston Quest Sunday. Game time Sunday is 3:00 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse.

Houston Quest is a travel team sponsored by To God be the Glory Basketball, a Houston-based service organization. This is their fourth year playing against NCAA teams, and their roster includes numerous players with collegiate experience.

“Houston Quest is a combination of former college players from the Houston area,” said UTPA Head Coach Bob Hoffman. “It is our last chance to play an opponent where the outcome really doesn’t matter. We’ll be trying to see how well we can build upon what we have done, and make some more strides to be able to get ready for opening night.”

Hoffman said he and his staff would be looking for improvement. “We need to continue to build upon what happened last night,” said Hoffman. “we need to work on our defensive schemes, and look at different combinations of players playing together.”

Sunday’s game will be the Broncs’ last game until they open the regular season at home against Sul Ross State November 17th.
