SECOND ANNUAL UTPA BASKETBALL CLINIC SET FOR THIS SATURDAY

EDINBURG, TX–The University of Texas-Pan American Fieldhouse will be the area’s basketball headquarters this Saturday, October 20th, when the UTPA men’s basketball program stages its second annual Coaches/Players Clinic. The clinic begins at 12:30, and will end at 3:00 p.m. when the UTPA
men’s basketball team will practice.

Admission to the clinic is free. All boys’ basketball players in the ninth through twelfth grades are invited to attend, as well as all girls’ and boys’ basketball coaches at any level.

UTPA Head Coach Bob Hoffman, the Bronc men’s basketball coaching staff, and the men’s basketball team will be on hand to offer free tips and advice. Pizza and soft drinks will be served after the clinic. Participants are invited to stay after the clinic ends, and watch the UTPA men’s basketball team practice.

“Our clinic was very well-received last year,” said Hoffman. “It’s just a way for us to give back to the basketball community of the Rio Grande Valley, and help to continue to enhance the level of play. We have good coaches in the valley who work hard to improve the level of basketball, and we want to be part of that movement by offering this clinic.”

The Broncs will begin their season when they host Monterrey Tech on Tuesday evening, November 6th at 7:30 p.m.
